Running Classes ________________________________________________________________________ Current Classes Spring Half-Marathon/Marathon Training Group When: January 7th through April 29th 2012. Informational breakfast on January 7th at 8 am. First run is on January 14th at 8 am. Where: Route 16, Pt. Defiance, and the Orting Trail for our longest runs Whether you're training for your first race or a hoping to break a sub-three-hour marathon pace we know you'll love the benefits of running with this fun, friendly, and informative group led by Coach Tony Seabolt of NarrowsBridge Running Club and Coach Alexa Martin (Gig Harbor High School Cross-Country coach). Their number one goal is to teach you how to train right so you can run for life. You provide the perspiration, they'll provide the inspiration... along with group runs, training schedules, water stops, coaching expertise, pep talks, hugs, and more. Where: Route 16 Running & Walking Cost: $65 Turn your body into a good luck charm by making it fit to run a 5K! This fun and friendly ten-week class is perfect for beginner/novice runners and those runners needing to learn the basics of training right to avoid hitting a wall of injury, frustration, and fatigue. Coach Alexa will focus on the building blocks of running such as core-conditioning, stretching, injury prevention, nutrition, hydration, and of course, running and run/walking! Your optional class "final" will be the St. Paddy's Day Dash in Tacoma on March 17th, 2012. What a great way to start the New Year! Where: First class meets at Route 16 then we're at various trails around Gig Harbor to keep you on soft surfaces! Cost: $65 Are you ready to bust through your running plateaus? As long as you've been running consistently for three months (doesn't matter at what pace as long as you've got the base) then this fun and friendly class is for you! Each week you'll do a warm-up, a workout, a cool down, and then finish with ten minutes of abs, planks, push-ups, and targeted core-conditioning. Examples of types of workouts include tempo runs, intervals, hill repeats, fartleks, drills, plyometrics, stride-outs, and more. Coach Alexa will be at the work-out in full coach mode with the goal of helping you to improve your form, pace, confidence, and strategy. Please bring a mat for the core workout. Are you ready to bust through your running plateaus? My goal is not to force you to "push through pain" but to teach you how to run mindfully and joyfully with proper form and pacing at your aerobic threshold.
